About Abby

Abby lives in a tiny town in Alabama with her daughter and parents. She has a BFA in Studio Art, specializing in oil painting and photography. When she isn’t “momming” she is in her studio. When she isn’t in the studio, she is selling industrial supplies, teaching art or brainstorming a way to get on the back of a horse. Her favorite color is grass green.

My mom says that I came into this world with a crayon in hand. While that’s obviously an exaggeration, I would bet I’ve spent more of my life with a crayon (or paintbrush, or pencil or charcoal) in hand than without.

Mon Petit Chou Art Studio

I began drawing silhouettes when my daughter was two. Her features were changing so quickly and I wanted to capture them! I then began giving gifts of silhouettes to mom friends who had young children. Soon their mom friends were asking for me to create portraits and Mon Petit Chou Art was born.

The darling name of my studio comes from my precious mom. She and my father spent many years as foster parents. I would often overhear my mom cooing at babies and lovingly calling them “mon petit chou”, a French term of endearment meaning “my little cabbage”. I want my portraits to embody that same delight of life. I hope my artwork will be considered heirlooms and be cherished for generations.
